PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim – All countries in the world, including Indonesia, are currently intensively making efforts to transition from fossil energy to carbon-free renewable energy (EBT).

However, it is predicted that coal will still be one of the best-selling commodities in 2022.

Yuliana, as the director of the logistics transportation services company PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim (BNM) said that this happened because the demand for coal is still quite high.

"We hope that coal can still reach high prices until the first quarter of 2022. It is estimated that demand will still be high in early 2022, seeing that until the end of this year there are still many requests for coal transportation services," said Yuliana.

In addition, Yuliana also revealed that this prediction was also based on the fact that until now coal is one of the most exported commodities to the Asia Pacific region as the main source of energy for power plants. Because of this, it is estimated that the energy transition plan in the first quarter of 2022 will still not be significant enough.

“Permintaan batubara yang meningkat juga akan berdampak bagi sektor jasa transportasi laut batubara untuk tetap bertumbuh,” tandas Yuliana.
