PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim – KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. An issuer engaged in coal transportation services, PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim Tbk (BESS) invested in shares in the establishment of a new business entity called PT ESGE to contribute to business development.

In more detail, PT ESGE is a limited company engaged in the wholesale trade of Machinery, Equipment and Other Supplies, Petroleum Mining, Natural Gas Mining.

According to the information disclosure submitted on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on 20 June 2022, Batulicin Nusantara Maritim is the majority shareholder in PT ESGE by holding 7,700 shares with a total nominal value of IDR 7.7 billion. The remaining 3,300 shares or Rp 3.3 billion are owned by PT Ecube Project Management.

Director of Batulicin Nusantara Maritim, Yuliana explained, his party sees that in the future this coal commodity will be further managed towards new renewable energy (EBT). What Yuliana meant was coal gasification.

According to the explanation from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Coal gasification is the process of converting coal into gas products that can be used as fuel or raw materials for the chemical industry. Through gasification technology, coal will be converted into syngas which will be reprocessed into a product called dimethyl ether (DME).

"We think because this is still connected and we have the transportation, we hope it can become a link and expand and improve our business. In addition, following the trend going forward that if the coal commodity is converted into liquid, we still exist for that," he explained in a public expose in Jakarta, Thursday (28/7).

Yuliana gave an illustration, PT ESGE will transport the product in liquid form to any factory in the future loading point the factory. Yuliana has not been able to provide further details regarding the business agenda and targets for PT ESGE because management is still working on this plan.

"So we are still discussing this plan as to where we entered it, only after that will we have the courage to say it further. If we have obtained a unanimous vote, maybe at the end of 2022 or in 2023 we will announce the corporate action," he said.
