PT Batulicin Nusantara Maritim – Jakarta- On (24/1/2022) President Joko Widodo inaugurated the construction of a coal downstream project into dimethyl ether (DME) located in Muara Enim, South Sumatra.
Downstreaming the industry, especially natural resources (SDA), is one of the 3 big strategies for Indonesia's future economy together with the digitalization of MSMEs and the green economy.
Director of PT. Batulicin Nusantara Maritim, Yuliana, said that one of the government's steps in downstreaming coal is of course to create an Indonesia that is able to stand on its own feet in terms of natural resource management.
"In terms of coal gasification that is of concern to the government, it is in line with the energy transition that supports sustainable and environmentally friendly development. Coal gasification can be an alternative energy for the future, so this effort also aims to reduce fuel imports, increase energy security, and reduce emissions," said Yuliana on Friday (28/01/2022).
Downstreaming that is built in the regions is able to support the realization and acceleration of regional economic growth against the dynamics of global commodity prices. The renewable energy transformation that China has carried out for a decade risks affecting the performance of the coal mining business in the future if efforts to downstream coal are not accelerated.
"Every step taken by the government in accelerating investment in Indonesia is carried out for all regions and not just focusing on one area. Every investment activity has studies and targets that have been determined, roles and collaboration between the Government, SOEs, the private sector and of course MSMEs must continue to be developed for Indonesia's future progress," said Yuliana.
Yuliana added, the Government through SOEs must continue to synergize and accelerate together with MSMEs and service providers who have good capabilities to support every investment activity, especially in the coal sector which in the future will become a sector that continues to advance as an alternative energy in clean energy.
“PT. Batulicin Nusantara Maritim, which is a subsidiary of the Six Nine Group and stock coded BESS on this stock exchange, will continue to support every effort by the Government in the natural resources sector, especially coal, so that in the future every coal trading activity involves companies that are able to provide added value in every activities such as BESS as a provider of coal transportation services on a small or large scale, are always ready to serve the requests of various parties," concluded Yuliana.
